Prayer for Deliverance from Bondage
Heavenly Father, You created me to be free from physical, mental, and emotional bondage. In the past I opened the door for habits, addictions, and bondages to creep in. Today I renounce those old decisions and close and lock any doors I opened. The Son of God, Jesus Christ, is the Champion of spiritual warfare and the One who defeated the devil. He has set me free from the past, unforgiveness, addictive substances, and fear. By knowing the truth I am free indeed and abide in Your Word and love. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Scripture Affirmations
I have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear, but I have received the Spirit of adoption by whom I cry out, “Abba, Father.” The nearer I draw to You, the freer I am. (Romans 8:15)
I have not been redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from my aimless conduct received by tradition from my forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. His blood has broken the chains that held me and my ancestors in bondage, and I am a new creation in Him. (1 Peter 1:18-19)
The Lord is my God, who has brought me out of the land of “Egypt,” out of “the house of bondage.” Though my exodus leads through a “wilderness,” God will surely bring me into my “promised land.” (Exodus 20:2)
Jesus said, “Whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” Lord, by Your Spirit I break free from those things that want to make me their slave. The Spirit of freedom lives in my heart and I resist every form of bondage. Walking in the wisdom of God, I change my lifestyle to avoid the places, people, and occasions of sin. (John 8:34-36, Romans 13:14)
My own iniquities had entrapped me, and I was caught in the cords of my sin. But the blood of Christ broke my chains and set me free. Now Christ’s grace reigns through righteousness in my life. (Proverbs 5:22, Romans 5:21)
I stand fast in the liberty by which Christ has made me free. With His help I will not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. The enemy can no longer force me back into a prison cell of self-condemnation. (Galatians 5:1, Romans 8:1)
