Prayer to Throw Off Depression

Father, I thank You for Jesus Christ and his power lives in me. You have forgiven my past, and I forgive myself for every sin, error, and mistake. I also forgive those who hurt me and make a quality decision to move on with my life. Through forgiveness, I break the chains that anchored me to the past. From this day forward, I no longer blame others for my situation, but accept responsibility for my own thoughts, words, and deeds. I saturate my mind with the truth of God’s Word, so there is no room for the depression and lying thoughts that assailed me previously. Your Word is Your presence in my mind. When I cannot feel Your presence, I will remember Your Word, read it, and speak it. Your Word gives me hope and destroys the lies at the root of depression and discouragement. Your Word alone declares who I am, what I have, and what I can do in Christ. I will no longer isolate myself but will attend church and fellowship with the saints. I know the thoughts You think toward me are thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give me a future and a hope. Thank You for being with me and lifting this dark cloud of depression.
