Prayer to Come Out of Spiritual Darkness

Father, You have called me out of the darkness of this world into Your marvelous light. He who follows Jesus shall not walk in darkness of hate but have the love and light of life. Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. By meditating in Your Word, I abide in the light, which drives the shadows of darkness from my heart. I thank You for the light of truth which dispels all darkness. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Scripture Affirmations

Jesus said, “I AM the Light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness but have the light of life.” I believe in and follow Jesus, so my steps are illuminated by His presence. I will not stumble in the moral darkness that covers the earth, for the Light of the world has promised to never leave me nor forsake me. (John 8:12, Matthew 28:20)

God has delivered me from the power of darkness and conveyed me into the glorious, light-filled kingdom of the Son of His love. (Colossians 1:13)

Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. (Psalm 119:105)

The entrance of Your Words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple. (Psalm 119:130)

I will arise and shine; For my light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon me. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over me, And His glory will be seen upon me. (Isaiah 60:1-2)

I am a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, one of Your own special people. You have called me out of darkness into Your marvelous light, that I may proclaim Your praises. (1 Peter 2:9)

I will have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light. Therefore He says: “Awake, you who sleep, arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light.” (Ephesians 5:11-14)

If I love my brothers and sisters, I abide in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in me. (1 John 2:10)
