Prayer for Personal Contentment

Father, You have called me to be content in whatever state I am. Godliness with contentment is great gain. For when I am content in You, I am not driven by the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, or the pride of life. For I have found in You an everlasting love that satisfies me in a way nothing of this world can. As I abide in Christ, and He in me, I rest content in You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Scripture Affirmations

Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:11-13)

Now godliness with contentment is great gain. For I brought nothing into this world, and it is certain I can carry nothing out. And having food and clothing, with these I shall be content. (1 Timothy 6:6-8)

Jesus said, “Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.” Therefore I will not stress about what I have or what I don’t have, for in Him I am complete and content. (Luke 12:15)
