Prayer to Overcome Demons

Father, You sent Jesus to restore my dominion over unseen spiritual forces. Jesus defeated the adversary, took from him the keys of death and hell, led captivity captive, and was raised from the dead. I thank You that when I speak in the name of Jesus every knee will bow, in heaven, on earth, and under the earth (in hell and the spirit world, Philippians 2:9-11). As a believer, I tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt me. As a born-again Christian, I have the right to command demons to depart from me, my children, and my family, in Jesus’ name. So I command __________________ to get out of my house and away from my family. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Scripture Affirmations

Jesus has given me authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt me. Nevertheless I do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to me, but rather rejoice because my name is written in heaven. That makes me a registered agent of the Lord Jesus Christ with the right, like a power of attorney, to represent Him and speak in His name. As I do, heaven will back me up. (Luke 10:19-20)

From the Lord I have received power and authority over demons, and they have no right to afflict or torment me or my household. I repent and cease occult activities and abstain from addictive substances, which open the door to demons. I remove from my house any objects associated with the dark side. In Jesus’ name, I revoke all permissions I ever gave to the demonic world and send evil spirits into the abyss, never more to return. (Mark 16:17, Matthew 28:18)

Salvation and strength and the kingdom of our God and the power of His Christ have come into my life. Therefore, in Jesus’ name, I cast down the nagging voice of the accuser who whispers accusations against me. I overcome him by the blood of the Lamb and the word of my testimony. (Revelation 12:10-11)

I do not love this world, nor give myself over to the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, or the pride of life. I keep my heart pure from envy and self-seeking, which is earthly, sensual, and demonic: for where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. Therefore I purify my heart from covetousness and the love of money, which is a root of all kinds of evil, lest I open the door to the enemy and pierce myself through with many sorrows. (James 3:14-16, 1 Timothy 6:10)
